The course offers a broad overview of Public International Law and current challenges to the international legal system, the rule of law and the foundations of liberal democracy. A focus will be put on the protection of fundamental and human rights in the national, supranational and international multi-level system in the interplay of constitutional law, European law, and international human rights law (see a more detailed list of topics on stud.ip).
Students will have to give a presentation and prepare an extended hand-out/ essay.
The course will be held in English (or in German, if all students speak German).
