International Program

Welcome to the International Program of the Department of Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences Jena! We hope the following information is helpful and we would be happy to see you in Jena. In the past, more than 80 students of the faculty have spent a study period abroad. Almost 350 students have spent at least one practical semester in institutions, companies, etc. outside Germany. Students spent time in Groningen, Málaga, Athen and Helsinki among others.
The Department of Social Work is enthusiastic about international contacts and therefore maintains active and stable relations especially within the Socrates University Network of European Schools of Social Work, which was initiated during an international week 1998 in Groningen (NL) and the inaugural coordinators meeting in November of 1998 in Jena amongst others by Menno van Veen (Groningen) and Prof. Dr. Thomas Trenczek (Jena).
